Back in Action and Jonathan Update

I'm back in the blogging world! It's been almost two years, but I'm back! In lieu of everything new in my life going on, I'm getting back on the blogging bandwagon to keep family and friends updated. There are so many new things in my life since the last time I blogged…Wow, how time flies.

An upcoming wedding, a new niece on the way, and a deployment for my fiancé are all the major current events for the moment. I can honestly say that it's times like these where you realize how much support, love, and encouragement you have in your life. Jonathan and I have received nothing but congratulations and support since we got engaged in December. Furthermore, Kelly, Matt, and Abigail could not have more people excited for them on the new addition to their family. I know I can't wait to meet her!

On another note, Jonathan left yesterday for Afghanistan. We knew this deployment was coming for weeks, but that didn't make the goodbyes any easier. We have been surrounded by family and great friends for the past two weeks while we prepped Jonathan for this four month tour. So many prayers have been lifted up for Jonathan! I just have to have faith that God will bring him home safely.

Jonathan called briefly earlier this afternoon to let me know that they had gotten to Germany safe. Thankfully! He sounded good, and he was rested from the flight over there. Prayers that the second half of their flight goes as smoothly as the first.

Whenever I have an update on Jonathan, I'll post what I can on here. I can't give too much detail though. Please, please, please keep him and the other soldiers in your prayers!

Words of comfort during this time from my future mother in law, Melanie
